I hesitate to share this recipe from my beloved Flamingo Estate. It is totally delicious and has a wonderfully salacious name, but there are a few things to note. And now that I’ve made it a few times, I’ve figured it all out. Everything.
First, the ingredients are not written in their order of use. Which is…how recipes work. The ingredients are listed in the order you’ll need to use them so you can keep track of what you’ve done. It is easier to scan back and forth from instructions to ingredients that way, as well. As not only an editor but also a Virgo, this immediately sent me. But I pressed on, undeterred.
This recipe also teaches us a few valuable lessons in the kitchen…
Lesson 1. I had never considered using freeze dried fruit for anything beyond kindergarten snacks. But freeze dried mango is a revelation in the crumble topping here. Im going to try strawberry and pineapple next. I’m unstoppable.
